On the home letch

The Czech Rep. is supposed to be one of Europe's property hotspots, where investors from all over feverishly snap up real estate like hot palačinky. Those in the know mutter sagely about the EU, stable economy and plans to adopt the Euro in 2010.

These arguments have their place, but I suspect the pundits have neglected to give enough credit to the wily ways of Czech marketing. This is the central panel of a billboard advertisement for a new suburban development outside Karlovy Vary. I stand astonished at the way it elegantly sums up the tremendous advantages of buying on this estate. Lovely brickwork.

I am also sure this lovely naked lady (who seems to share your admiration of the brickwork) has never actually been in the Czech Republic, let alone left her home state of California where this photo was taken in 1994, put on a photo library and then dropped in by wily local re-touchers.

Surely not?! I would have thought that masonary this marvellous would entice even the most straight-laced puritan to rip off their clothes and get closer to the mortar. You break my heart with your cynicism.

I wonder if the masonry left ridges on her butt.

Perhaps they airbrushed the ridges out, and accidentally took her clothes too?
